Professor Tara Dasgupta from the UWI Net Zero Energy Project participated in the Scientific Research Council’s 4th Biennial Conference & Expo on November 15th, 2016.
The conference was entitled “Science, Technology and Innovation: Stimuli for Health, Wealth and Wellness”.

“The Green Economy: Climate Smart Innovations and Business Support Across the Region” and “Net Zero Energy Building: An Innovative concept for the Caribbean” were among the presentations at the Scientific Research Council’s 2-day conference and exposition.
The Scientific Research Council – An agency of the Ministry of Science, Energy and Technology
The Scientific Research Council is Jamaica’s principal public sector agency, responsible for the fostering and coordination of scientific research and the promotion of its application.
Most of the Council’s projects support the growth and development of the agro-industrial sector in Jamaica through research, adaptation of available technologies, creation of new and appropriate technologies and the provision of training and technical assistance.
November is National Science and Technology Month
November is being observed as National Science and Technology Month under the theme ‘Science, Technology and Innovation: Stimulus for Health, Wealth and Wellness’.
The month of activities, which was launched at the Scientific Research Council on October 26, will serve to popularise and educate the public on the importance and relevance of science and technology to the development of the society.
